His holo rang. It was Hanako. Perfect timing, he thought bitterly. He took a breath and answered.
“Takemura-san. I've been told that your thief has just left Night City. I take it she is uninterested in joining us.”
A muscle in his temple twitched as he tried to maintain his composure. “I'm afraid so, Hanako-sama.”
She hummed and eyed him carefully. “Very well then. It does not matter, she was not essential to our plan. We will do fine without her. Meet me at my brother's mansion. You know what to do.”

Set after the events of The Tower ending. Sat on this for over a year but I need to get this out of my system/drafts. This was me trying to cope and make lemonade out of lemons. Slow and chill.
