To repay the life debt owed to Harry Potter, to return magic to Hermione Granger and the lost memory of an old friend? Severus Snape, as always, can only dream of peace. The past catches up and lets go, the future is foggy, and in the present there are books, his laboratory and the light burning in the windows of the house across...

"Unreliable" next to Granger's name, written in his own handwriting. He didn’t know then that there would be camps and executions without trial or investigation. A carefully labeled list of students from Technische Universität Berlin peeked out of the thin dossier with mute reproach. February 1945. Muggle AU for World War II.

Summary
1973. Led Zeppelin is huge, Jimmy is making himself scarce, and Robert is keeping himself busy to avoid thinking about it. It doesn't work.
I've been wanting to do a tribute to my wonderful friend/coauthor LuxeApocalypse (who came up with the title)'s wonderful story, What Is And What Should Never Be (specifically the 1973 chapter) for a long, long time, but never felt like I had anything to add! Until now! My spin is supposed to be a bit dry and melancholic, retaining the second-person tense that I love so much in WIAWSNB, with added sex with strangers (and friends).

Summary
(Harrumph. Tap-tap. Is this working? okay)
So what you'll find here is a collection of uuuh literary analyses of Robert Plant's original lyrics from the 70s to current times. The idea behind it is that Robert has been writing about his epic love story with Jimmy Page...
(*shuffling of chairs and rumble of footsteps as the audience stampedes for the nearest exit in a panic*)
... Oookay. So. The three brave souls remaining, with enough curiosity and open-mindedness (or enough "poor girl, she's tried so hard") to give me a chance. Gather round, bit closer.
What I was saying. Robert Plant has been writing about his epic love story with Jimmy Page in his songs since forever. It's really not that subtle. All it takes to see it is considering "so what if it was real" and have a quick look.
But since I've found symbols, metaphors, recurring themes, connections and callbacks all over the place, I'd like to tell you about them. I've done the work, so you don't have to.
The conclusion is (spoilers) yes, Jimbert is hella real, it's not platonic, it's colossal, it's fucking beautiful... and it's alive.
Intrigued yet? Come on board mateys, we're going sailing.

Summary
1977: In a smoky Cokeworth pub where the Sex Pistols scream Anarchy through crackling speakers, Hermione's serving chips while young Severus Snape pours pints and practices his sneer. She wasn't supposed to be here, but a cursed Time-Turner had other plans the night Dumbledore fell. Their summer burns wild and free, all vinyl records, heated nights, and a love affair that tastes like rebellion. But September's reality crashes in: they're both heading to Hogwarts, where choosing sides means more than picking records.
Two decades, two wars, and one hell of a temporal mess later; the future's about to get a new soundtrack.
Never mind prophecies, History's about to get loud.

Summary
In 1975 the band was at its absolute peak, the Black Dragon was at its mightiest, and it was the apotheosis of the Golden God.
That year, Jimmy and Robert travelled to Morocco.
It wasn't their first trip alone together, but it was many weeks long, and it left a deep, enduring mark. When they reunited for Page/Plant in the mid 90s, this is the place they chose to find their groove again. Not many years ago, Robert did the thing he does of telling the press he wishes they would go again, Jimmy and him. (Just pick up the fucking phone, old man.) (NO! I'll make an entire album instead!) (Fine by me anyway. I love that album.)
Very soon after that journey in 1975, disaster struck in the form of a near-fatal car crash which left Robert wheelchair bound for months. He recovered, but things were just not the same after that.
Based on Achilles Last Stand, we fantasise about how it might be in Jimmy's heart and mind in those days, before everything started to fall apart, as well as some terrible, ominous hindsight from his present-ish self, who knows what happens in the next chapter.
