Summary
Sasuke then looks at Naruto and still feels the irony of his situation. Wondering how he managed to have the will to continue living. He still wonders of his fate. But then remembers Itachi's wish for his happiness. He still remembers his farewell, putting his forehead to his, finally being true to him. He then remembers Naruto's words to him:
"I don't know how to explain it. But when you get hurt, messed up, taking on a huge burden and going about the way you do, somehow, it hurts me too. It hurts so much that I can't ignore you at all."

Summary
Sasuke gives a few knocks on the window. Seeing no response, he looks inside to see Naruto sleeping on his desk with piles of papers and documents surrounding him, some of the papers lying on the ground. Sasuke sighs, "That fool is still pushing himself too much".
He sneaks into the office through the window and stops to observe Naruto's silhouette in the gentle moonlight. The current Naruto looks exhausted, face pressed sideways on the desk, drooling on his desk with his arms crossed around his head.

Summary
After the events of 3.7, Mydei is practically drowning in lust, a result of longing and desire culminating across 33 million cycles. Obtaining some guidance from Cipher and Castorice, he decides to have a proper heart-to-heart conversation with Phainon first.
Unbeknownst to him, Phainon is drowning in desire too, only a darker, more destructive kind.
They decide to drink.
(Or Mydei is a tease, and Phainon likes seeing him cry. Mydei gets wrecked.)

“What’s this?”
Phainon asks the question more out of filling the silence than to actually gain an answer.
“That’s—” Mydei chokes on his words, stammering for a response, trying to rack his brain for anything that wouldn’t cause him to sound either desperate or pathetic.
“Were you using this, Mydei?” Phainon questions, his voice steady and slow. “Whilst I was gone? Did you miss me that much?”
Or in which Phainon leaves for a mission, and comes back to a rather surprising scene.

“Why come you to the realm of the dead?” Death asks, and Phainon doesn’t know how to answer.
Because Aglaea sent him. Because an entire people rely on him for salvation. Because the Flame-Chase is failing in their duty to protect Amphoreus from the relentless progress of Castrum Kremnos’s war machine. None of those responses are good enough; Death will demand more of him—more truth, more vulnerability.
“We need the crown prince of Castrum Kremnos to turn the tide of the war,” he says.
To stop the advance of Eurypon's war machine on Okhema, Phainon descends into the underworld to bring the long-dead Mydeimos back to life.

Mydei hefted himself onto the shore as he spoke, long pink-red tail curling in the cool, wet sand. The fins sticking out of where his ears would’ve been fanning in and out in response to the breeze.
“I still don’t think that word means what you think it does.”
“You bring me human things.” Mydei pushed back his long, soaking wet hair, the little shells and repurposed human jewelry used to hold his braids together clinking against one another like windchimes in the breeze. Pointing at the bag slung over Phainon’s shoulder, Mydei added, “Deliverer.”

There was an (awkward) silence until Phainon spoke up again in the same bizarre, soft tone.
“It looks good on you.” Was what the hero uttered in the end.
Mydei looked at him puzzled as if he was dropped by his mother on the head. He then figured that Phainon must’ve been praising his new metal claws. He scraped the others, and they ended up bent in certain parts after a tough brawl, so he had to commission a new pair. Although they looked exactly like the last pair he had. So why was Phainon acting all weird now?---
Fic takes place before Castrum Kremnos fell, when Mydei was still crown prince. Not much changed tho, they are still very gay for each other.
