His second thought is, it cannot possibly be heaven, for if there were truly any justice in the world, he would never be allowed inside.
"Nii-san!" comes the delighted shout, and a pair of skinny arms are wrapped around his middle, and Itachi is forced to re-evaluate his first theory, because there is no way, absolutely no way, that he deserves heaven and his brother in the same breath.

“Fuck me,” Sasuke breathes out, burning up yet at peace, a peace he hasn’t felt in a long, long time. “Naruto, fuck me.”
It’s as close as he’ll get to begging, as close as he’ll get to admitting he needs Naruto like he needs oxygen."

Following his discovery that Sasuke has not only returned to Konoha after three years with no contact, but is now somehow engaged to Sakura, Naruto tries and fails to stick to the role of supportive best friend. Meanwhile, burdened by guilt and secrets, Sasuke is just trying to survive.
Of course, some things never change- like the fragile illusion that is peace in the shinobi world, and Naruto and Sasuke's inability to stay away from each other.
