He didn’t feel self conscious often, he had always been a charming guy if his friends are to be believed. But right now he couldn’t help but think of his simple sweatshirt as shabby
Just as James was thinking of how to avoid him from the rest of their respective careers he heard a silky voice.

Summary
After Buck comes out to the team, Chimney notices Eddie getting distant. He assumes the worst and his protective older brother instincts kick in.

“You did hook up with him?” Hen asks, shocked, “Really thought he was out of your league.”
“Well, we slept together. Twice.” Buck laughs, oblivious to Eddie’s frown.
But Chimney notices. Even drunk, he can see the moment Eddie’s easy smile turned into a frown, the second Buck took a sip.
Strange. Eddie never seemed to have a problem with Hen being lesbian, so it can’t be that, right? But the timing is just… Does Eddie have a problem with Buck liking men?

Actually, scratch that—his first mistake was falling hopelessly in love with his best friend, but he’s not sure he could’ve prevented that one.
But the bar—that he could have avoided. And the first shot of tequila. And the second, and third, and fourth.
His seventh mistake was watching Eddie get hit-on by a dead ringer for Chris Evans.
His eighth—and arguably most egregious—mistake was talking to Chimney.
Or, Buck tells Chimney a secret. This proves to be a mistake.

Summary
The thing was, the 118 was full of gossips.
Eddie had been at the station less than a week before Hen and Chim wrangled details about his “hot young thing” from him (“Buck is only 4 years younger than me, he is not a ‘hot young thing’!” Eddie complained.)
And Bobby was open about his worries for his son’s lack of direction and the secrets he appears to be keeping (“I just wish I could help Evan find the thing that gives him purpose,” Bobby lamented.)
It just made it all the more ridiculous (and horrifying) when Eddie realizes he’s been dating his Captain’s son this whole time (“Defiling his baby,” Chimney cackled, because he clearly wanted Eddie murdered.)
