    Summary

    Thirteen seconds.

Thirteen seconds of anger. Thirteen seconds of hurt. Thirteen seconds of fire because Chad is fire. And fire is unpredictable, hard to contain, and it usually does not care about what it burns. Thirteen seconds later, the world has been altered and shifted off its axis forever. Because Robert was standing in the fire with him this time.

This has always been a story of redemption and second chances. Of breaking the curse of potential. But when somebody pulls a trigger, the bullet can’t go back in the gun. Right?

    ———

Flambae’s fire attack actually hits Robert after he reveals his identity, nearly killing him on the spot. Six months later, Robert will risk what’s left of him to offer him his last chance at redemption. If not him, who else would?
