Summary
In the times leading up to the Dance of the Dragons, Sara Snow, a bastard of Winterfell, is thrust into a new world when her injured half-brother Cregan Stark can no longer travel. Taking his place, Sara journeys to King's Landing with King Viserys I, Queen Aemma, and Prince Daemon Targaryen.
Nothing can ever happen between her and the Prince. Daemon is a Targaryen, and heir presumptive, after all, and Sara is no more than a northern bastard. Her blood is dirty and tainted.
Daemon seems to think otherwise.
As the line of succession grows more complex, Sara finds herself holding a powerful position as a northern ward of the Targaryen court, her initial tension with Daemon fast descending into a possessive and intense romance. Their connection strengthens Daemon's claim to the throne, uniting the North and the South in stability for the realm.
That is, if the North can hold off the threats rising beyond the Wall.
And if Daemon can secure the throne in the first place.
The archmaesters have meticulously compiled these chronicles, weaving together accounts and personal diaries to tell the life and story of Saera Targaryen, formerly Sara Snow.
