Summary
It is with pride and no small amount of disbelief that he stalks to the porch, throws open the doors, and raises the King’s crown high above his head. Jihoon, perched atop the highest of the castle towers, must see him and cast an amplifying spell, because when he speaks his voice booms across the castle grounds. “The king is dead!” he cries, his voice ringing clear above the clang of the battle below. “The king is dead!”
The crowd below answers with a surging, deafening roar. “Rally together, soldiers!” Seungcheol can hear Soonyoung’s voice roaring. “One last push– the king is dead!”
Well done, says Jihoon’s voice in his mind, quiet and proud and relieved.
Seungcheol stands there, crown in his hands, until the battle is finally won.

Summary
"I don't want to be forgotten, Jihoon. I don't want to be temporary. I want to be remembered like the myths and stars. But I have nothing to be remembered by."
How dared they?
How dared the stars continue to shine? How dared the meteors continued to streak across the sky? How dared the constellations continue to flicker, telling their stories and their myths? How dared they, when Soonyoung was already gone, his light snuffed out by the merciless hands of the reaper?
How dared they, when Soonyoung was already dead?
Soonyoung is dying and Jihoon hates the stars.

Summary
So, they broke up. A while ago.
Jihoon thinks he remembers it hurting for a while, a dull ache pulsing purple on the softest parts of his heart, but in time, he healed. They both took the heartbreak of their experience, packed it into a box and left it locked up in their respective closets, never to be looked upon. Old wounds that neither of them could afford opening up again.
Or, that's what Jihoon had thought.
Soonyoung never was one to get rid of old habits so easily.
