Summary
Peridan thought that the hard part was over. Instead of burning with unrequited love, Edmund loved him in return. For his part, Edmund left the Lone Islands astonished by the depth of his feelings for Peridan when he had only just discovered them. It should have been a simple happy ever after. But circumstances keep separating Edmund and Peridan: espionage missions to Calormen, foreign princesses sent to court Edmund, jealousy, and still for Peridan, the fear of hatred. Love alone does not guarantee happiness, so they must find a way to overcome the obstacles, if they can. Peridan has just returned from his vision-quest, but Edmund has some troubling news waiting for him.
