Summary
In Xenokuni, the ancient and prominent Josuiji clan, once glorious, has experienced a marked decline, with its ranks depleted by frequent defeats in conflicts.
Faced with this decline, the Josuiji clan is forced to forge an alliance through marriage, with their only unmarried son, Shinri, being the focus of this union. However, the options considered most promising reject the union due to Josuiji's deteriorating reputation in recent years.
When desperation threatens to set in, the Banzoin clan, a popular group of exorcists in Xenokuni, showed interest in the proposal from the Josuiji clan. Both families, despite sharing objectives, face an obstacle: Shinri is the only unmarried heir of Josuiji, while the Banzoin family consists exclusively of male children.
The solution adopted is to give the hand of the youngest Banzoin, Hakka, to Shinri.

This is the moment where he should be all smooth and normal, say something cordial to make this (kind) stranger go on with his day so he can get back to staring holes into the lab door until it magically opens.
“Aren’t we like the same height though?” is what comes out of his mouth instead because when he glances down as he gathers up his words all he can see are these horrendously thick platform shoes. Seriously. They're actually fucking huge.
