Regulus can’t sleep. It’s his first year away from home, and he doesn’t want to be. He doesn’t want to be here, or anywhere, and he wants to pace and feel and then he meets Remus.
At the top of the Astronomy Tower.
Remus can’t sleep either. So where does he want to be? What keeps him awake and what does he want and why will Regulus spend years trying to find out?
He says he wants everything.
He says that in the summer of Regulus’s fourth year, and he’s been there almost every night since that time in first, because they’ve talked and they’ve learned and they’ve stared at the sky — Remus stared at the sky, Regulus stared at Remus — and they’ve felt the stars stretching in space, gravity tugging their hearts and they have wanted. Remus already gave Regulus everything he’s been wanting, because Remus gave him Sirius and family and home, and still Regulus wants.
He wants to give Remus everything.
