This was it.
Curly thought- no, *knew*, that it was completely over. The end.
He was going to die in the cryopod, limbless, skinless, and completely alone. He had failed his crew horribly, but he had especially let down Anya.
It was too late to hope now, but still, in his last moments, before the excruciating cold became too much to bear, there had been a fleeting longing in Curly's heart to be able to turn back time - to fix things, to take the responsibility he should have taken earlier - and this time, more swiftly too - before everything went to hell.
He would have done *anything* to fix things, whether to prevent what happened to Anya, the crash, or the survival of his crew - anything. Even if he wouldn't be able to fix things completely - as the crew's fate had been sealed from the moment he let Jimmy on board the Tulpar
As Curly's vision blacked out, there was a bright flash, before he found himself back in the past again, a few weeks before the crash.
This time, he strongly vowed to grasp any opportunity he could to take responsibility, but instead of Curly *taking* it, it came to *him* - in the strangest ways possible, too

Summary
I made this reproductive worldbuilding system as a separate thing from omegaverse for various reasons.
One, I hate labelling and putting my characters in a rigid box again so Ill just make everyone dualsex.
Two, why make one a sire and other a dame when you can make a character do both. Make your couple impregnate each other...or not, that's their choice.
Three, omegaverse is interesting to explore in terms of dynamics, biological stuff such as heats, ruts, marking and their societal effects but more often than not i am not in the mood to deal with these things, either cuz i just want a simple self indulgent smut or i want to explore entirely different gender dynamics that comes with being dualsex.
Anyway, i like my characters to have more choice, especially cuz omegaverse once again feels restricting and bioessentialist just like real life heteronormativity and gender binary
