Summary
Riddle’s mother wasn’t a bad person. She was strict, quick to anger, and didn’t always listen to others, but she wasn’t a bad person. She had reasons for what she did. No matter what, in the end, Riddle could understand it.
And if anything…worse than usual happened, then all Riddle had to do was wait. Eventually, everything would go back to normal.
So when she adds a strange addition to the drawing room, Riddle tries his best not to worry. But all his efforts turn out to be for nothing when he sees the finished product.
Because his mother has bought a person, and suddenly nothing is normal ever again.
Riddle’s life spirals down a path of old memories and new realizations as he does whatever he can to try and fix things for his family, and more importantly- the mer his mother has imprisoned.

Some unknown force has resulted in the disappearance of the Radiance, just before the infection could reach its peak under the Pale King's rule. The mystery soon takes a back-burner to a rearranged custody agreement over Herrah's brood, some clumsy attempts to re-establish marital trust, and some long overdue re-evaluations of the Pure Vessel. The king will send his newly unusable creation to train under the Great Knights, and become their sixth.
Court intrigue, sibling bonding, goddess hunting, different brands of motherhood, and accidental arson are abound.

Takes place over many years.Mismatched eyes glanced them up and down, the smile on his lips growing to reveal sharpened teeth. Shivers ran up the young boy’s spine and he took a step back, distancing himself ever so slightly from both his mother and the person before him. The thing in front of them pulled his hands out of his pockets and straightened himself. Tears stung at Riddle’s eyes, unable to keep himself from staring at the way his teeth had been filed into points. This person may not have been a demon, but only someone with demonic intentions would do that to themselves.
