    Rumi is still not a hundred percent sure why she agreed to this objectively ridiculous “tutoring” session.

    When it comes down to it, she thinks she's mainly doing this for Zoey, because Zoey is the only kind, genuine person at this whole damn school, and Rumi wants to help her. Zoey is absolutely hopeless with boys, and she needs help with her confidence before she tries to date one. Rumi sort of…didn’t mention the fact that all her own experience is with girls, but she’s pretty sure Zoey already knows. Kissing is a gender-neutral skill anyway, and Mira is going to handle the other part (thank god).

    It’s definitely not because Mira made intense eye contact with her in the bathroom mirror last week while applying lipstick way too slowly. Or because of that time Mira coolly demolished the boy who was trying to score points by talking shit about Rumi at lunch.

    Nope, it’s definitely not any of that. Rumi just wants to be a good friend to Zoey. A best friend. A friend who has never once been paralyzed by the desire to find and kiss every single one of Zoey’s freckles.
