“Hey, Eddie? Forget the beer,” he called.
“Why would I do that?” Eddie asked, stepping out from the kitchen. “Oh. God, tell me we’re not spanking for a bad attitude, because that is not a precedent I want set.”
“Maybe that’s a sign we should,” Tommy said dryly.

“What the hell are you doing?”
Eddie sounded furious as he charged across the patio and Buck groaned to himself. He barely had time to open his mouth before Eddie had knocked the hose from his hands and slammed the grill shut.
“I had it under control,” Buck said, and from the way Eddie’s face flushed redder, that was absolutely the wrong thing to say. Even if it was true.

He thrashed harder, and Tommy moved just in time to avoid being headbutted. “Eddie, you know what to say if you want me to stop,” he said firmly. “Fight it out if you need to, but I’m not letting you hurt yourself and I’m not letting go unless you safeword.”
Eddie roared, and struggled harder against his hold. Tommy used the wild movements to shove himself over so that Eddie was, at least theoretically, on his lap. He squeezed tighter as Eddie screamed out his rage, swearing at Tommy and Evan and Bobby and the world, and Tommy held him through it all.

“Just spit it out, Buck,” Eddie said, sighing. “It can’t be worse than everything you’ve already done.”
“Mmm, I don’t like the sound of that,” Tommy said, eyebrow raised. “Your tone or what happened with Evan while I was gone."
He tried not to sigh at the guilty looks both of his boyfriends wore. He’d picked up enough talking to Evan and texting with Eddie to know that they’d been struggling with the impending separation, and yet he had still underestimated how much the two of them had spiraled without him there.

The kissing resumed as soon as Evan closed the loft’s door behind them, Tommy sinking into the heat of his mouth with a grateful sigh. There was no pleasure more simple and more profound than kissing Evan Buckley, getting lost in the shape and texture of his lips, tasting every inch of him, claiming him with slow sweeps of his tongue. Even’s fingers pressed into his jaw, holding him in place while he returned each kiss, his tongue inquisitive and searching, but never really demanding. They fell into a rhythm as natural as breathing, a give and take like they’d been kissing each other their whole lives, learning about each other for years rather than just the few months they’d been dating.
