Eloise was at best, furious with her, at worst, no longer her friend. Colin had promised to look out for her, told her she was special to him, then not 15 minutes later was amongst his friends deriding her in a fashion Cressida Cowper would have cackled at. Her mother had worked with her late father’s successor to scam the Ton out of God only knew how much money, whilst gambling with her sister’s reputation by engaging her to said criminal.
The chips have fallen where they may and now Penelope must put things in motion. This was not one of her favorite plans but it served its purpose and aided with a big non-Whistledown problem.
Secrets have hurt her family and hopefully she can clear the air.
