Indeed his timing wasn’t really good, it never was, telling Simon to pack up for three days right after dinner at Forest Ridge, telling him he will pick him up with Malin in about an hour. He heard a faint, quiet sigh from the doorframe before heels clacked against the wooden floor, closer and closer to him.
„I am not trying to talk you out of it. If your father approved, be it. I just want you to be responsible and aware of your actions outside. Just because you are not in the city doesn’t mean there won’t be eyes on you and Simon everywhere you go.” (...)Also, Wilhelm thinks of Simon as his little starlight.

Summary
Leaving military service and taking up Crown Prince duties full-time has left Wilhelm stressed, frustrated, and extremely miserable - and that's without even mentioning the massive sexuality crisis lurking under the surface.
