But he was leaving the cottage in two days, and the thought of packing up this life with Shane into his carry-on and flying back to Boston alone was tying him in knots. He was just stressed, and vomiting made him feel lighter. He didn’t need to, though.

Draco couldn’t bear to hold their gaze directly, so his vision settled on a tiny mole on Harry’s left cheek. His chest burned with emotions, but he couldn’t quite parse which ones—fear, mostly. Dread. A throbbing intensity, like the adrenaline rush of standing at the edge of a great height. I’ll take care of you, he’d said. Draco had heard those words before.
