Summary
After the defeat of the Netherbrain, Tav (here named Dahamunzu) struggles to maintain balance between her old identity and her new Illithid mind. She finds solace with the Emperor, as both attempt to negotiate a hostile world. An angry populace in Baldur's Gate and the machinations of Vlaakith in the Astral Plane threaten to ensnare them both in the repercussions of their pasts.

This is intended as a preface to Glorious for those who have not played Baldur’s Gate 3 and don’t intend to do so. It consists of a short summary of the events in the game, a list of terms, and a list of characters, in roughly the order they appear in the story.
Note on Pronouns: In the story, the Emperor and Conductor are referred to as he and she respectively. Illithids are hermaphroditic and agender. In the case of Emperor and Conductor, they both have some links with their former selves and use their old pronouns out of habit.Series

Summary
Grazilaxx defected from his hive to preserve the one thing illithids weren’t meant to have—independence. Now a founder of the Society of Brilliance, he specializes in aberrant psychology, and his newest subject of study is a highly unusual beholder named Lorthuun. With their flair for metaphor, complicated history with the Zhentarim, and dangerous split mind, Lorthuun rapidly drags Grazilaxx out of his comfort zone and into a spiral of fixation.
What began as a clinical study warps into mutual fascination as the icy mentality of an illithid clashes against the chaotic heat of a beholder. It doesn’t take long before that fascination curdles into obsession. And obsession, the most dangerous emotion among aberrations, soon metastasizes into a twisted form of connection.
This is a slow-burn dark romance about identity, control, and the unbearable intimacy of trust among monsters, told through the perspective of an illithid struggling to reconcile his instinctive emotional repression with his yearning for psionic resonance.

Summary

But a tempting deal with an unexpected key player, The Emperor, lures Tav only into a much deeper web of secrets. The destiny of Baldur’s Gate will be decided in the cunning battle of wits, where the pendulum of power stays never stagnant.
Heavily focused on events pre-main story where Drow-Tav(2nd POV reader/not self-insert) finds herself caught in a deal of double-espionage with the Emperor that leads her down the path of his past. Tav will not just unravel mysteries and secrets that creep through the shadows of Baldur’s Gate, but also unveil The Emperor’s true identity as they revisit treacherous waters of his past once more.
