Summary
Lockwood had always known, in his youth, that he would be the first to die. A part of him had welcomed it; better to leave than to be left. But he hadn’t died, he’d lived. Grown, gotten married, had children, even grandchildren now. By any standard of measurement, he’d lived a good, full life. How strange, how ironic, that he was the last one of Lockwood & Co. still living.

Summary
She freezes, her situation barreling suddenly into full focus.
She’s lying on her side, lengthwise on the inner half of the sofa. Lockwood is flat on his back beside her, his body effectively trapping her against the sofa back. Her cheek is pillowed against his clavicle, and her right arm is resting on his chest, her palm pressed flat against his button-up. She can feel the individual fibers of the cotton. She can feel his heartbeat.
His breath is warm and steady against her hairline; if the regularity of his breathing is anything to go by, he’s fast asleep. And she can thank her lucky stars for that.
Because of greatest urgency at the moment: her right leg is slung across his waist, pressing right up against his groin. And he’s hard. Like, really hard.

Summary
Lockwood is trying to avoid thinking about a difficult anniversary while Lucy is trying to deal with some news from home. They're both preoccupied and trying to suss out what's going on with the other as they head into a tricky case. Things go badly wrong, but they get to have some snuggles in the aftermath :)
Also, Lockwood picks some roses with the intention of giving them to Lucy."After that he must have fallen asleep for a bit because when he opened his eyes next, Lucy was leaning over him. His mind still felt foggy and slow, so for a long moment he just assumed he was dreaming, and he let himself stare baldly up at her. The early morning sunlight that brightened the room filtered in through the leaves of the apple tree outside his window, and he watched in fascination as the dappled light flickered over the curve of her cheek and caught in her eyelashes and a few little wisps of curls that had fallen out of place. For a few seconds there was a rare softness in her expression, her lips slightly parted and a little worried line between her eyebrows. Then her gaze met his, and reality came crashing back in. Her eyes widened, and it dawned on him he wasn’t actually dreaming. "

Summary
The Problem seems to be petering out, but in the meantime, Lockwood & Co. have their work cut out for them as London's most popular agency. Lucy's scared, though; what is she going to do when there are no ghosts left to fight?
If only Lockwood wasn't being his usual mysterious, closed-off self, then maybe she could figure something out.
