Summary
Sasuke quickly approached one of his victims who had been hit by several senbon, three of which were taken to the torso, causing the boy to rabidly lose blood. The boy had already passed out, lying like a corpse on the cold, hard ground. Sasuke’s world stood still, and he dropped to his knees, turning Ita- whoever this was on his back so that he could take a closer look.
“Who are…” Sasuke mumbled in shock. Horror. “Who are you?”
Or: Adult Sasuke screws up and finds himself back in time, where he encounters a teenage version of his brother and nearly kills him. Sasuke decides to take care of him until he figures out how to get back to the present.

What if Itachi knew a genjutsu to erase memories and alter them? What if the night of the massacre, Itachi used it to have a last conversation with Sasuke and apologize for all the pain he will go through? Only to erase his memories after.

Summary

What if, when the time came, Sasuke, too, couldn’t bring himself to kill his older brother? What if he chose to save Itachi's life instead of letting him die that fateful day? How would their lives be different?
Theirs is the story of endurance and forgiveness and unfathomable love. How would Itachi function in a world he didn't die and was forced to see the brother who loved him, despite everything. Could he ever forgive himself? Was healing possible for someone like him? Could Itachi and Sasuke move past their past and start their life anew?

Summary
Kakashi has yet to come up with a reason why he'd decided that Itachi's life was worth saving, now sitting next to his unconscious body in the Konoha Hospital.
It is only when Itachi wakes, soul seemingly halfway out of his body already, that he is forced to face the severity of what he's done.
Kakashi is there when he first opens his eyes, foggy and distant and distinctly exhausted in a way he has never seen from Itachi before. Eyelids heavy, he doesn’t move for long seconds, staring beyond the ceiling, chest rising and falling so subtly Kakashi is almost tempted to uncover his sharingan to make sure he is breathing at all.
He’d always had a penchant for staring at nothing, lost in his own Tsukuyomi of consciousness. Kakashi realizes now that this was likely due to the weight Itachi had put on his own shoulders, a weight greater than anyone had been given the right to know. Itachi had been haunted by ghosts still unknowable in every sense of the word ever since the moment Kakashi had met him, long ago.
(AU where the Konoha crew ressucitated Itachi at Kakashi's insistence, right after Tobi takes Sasuke with him.)

Summary
Just a few minutes ago, there was a surly teenager standing in front of him — red eyes and cold expression identical to his older brother. Now there's a terrified child, six years old at most, staring up at him and drowning in way-too-big clothes.
"Well, shit," Kisame says. Itachi's gonna kill me for this one.
Sasuke gets turned into a kid. Itachi reverts to his previous form of Good Older Brother™. Kisame is extremely confused.
