Summary
Penelope Featherington has had problems before, you can't come from a disfunctinal family like the Featheringtons and not get into a scrape or two. In the past she has always been able to solve them if not herself then certainly with the help of her best friend Eloise Bridgerton and occasionally El's older brother Anthony.
This time though she has found herself in a situation that could ruin her life and she has absolutely no idea what to do about it.Colin Bridgerton travels the world, it is what he does, everyone knows that. What not a lot of people know is that he also spends a few months every year working at a holiday park in North Yorkshire in order to fund his travels. In fact the only person in his family who does know is his youngest sister Eloise, who this year he has allowed to work with him.
Penelope turns to Elosie for support, and is horrified to find her best friend is spending the summer with her youngest brother. Penelope had the biggest crush on Colin growing up. A mortifying fact that she kept to herself.
Will being close to Colin reignite her feelings for him? Because quite honestly the last thing Penelope needs right now is more complications in her already complex life.

Summary
As World War Two breaks out Penelope and Eloise are determined that they will play an active role in the war effort. As the girls navigate their way through the new found freedoms the war brings to women, the Bridgerton brothers are all serving in some capacity. Penelope has been carrying a torch for Colin for years hiding her feelings from everyone especially Colin himself. How will Penelope cope with the man she loves being in danger without revealing her feelings, whilst also supporting Eloise as she worries about all three of her brothers.
As the war progresses Penelope tries to move on and Eloise is horrified to find that her heart is not as impenitrable as she always thought it to be.
Meanwhile Colin begins to realise that Penelope starting to go out with other men is very disturbing although he is clueless as to why. -

Summary
This is a modern AU story, it takes a good while for Anne and Gilbert to actually meet because I wanted to create the atmosphere for their relationship to develop and really enjoyed weaving the strands of the story to get them in the same place at the same time. This story really uses the friendships between all the characters as it's base and we see how those friendships help to shape both Anne and Gilbert before they meet and then negotiate their own interactions. Resilience is a strong theme in this story as both Anne and Gilbert have experienced events in their pasts that lead to them making some major life changes. Don't really want to give too much away here, so I guess maybe just give it a go. AU is not everyone's cup of tea I know, however I hope you find that the situation/setting is AU but the characters are still true to the show.

Summary
This is an updated edit of this story with around an extra 4000 words. Gilbert didn't speak to Anne at the bonfire, and this is my take on how his inability to communicate his feelings could have played out. I do not apologise for making him suffer a bit first, he was an idiot with poor Miss Rose and so deserves to have to work hard get Anne to see what she means to him. There is a little bit of Diana and Jerry in there if you squint too.

Summary
This picks up at the end of season 2 episode 9 and the start of episode 10. I have always hated that Anne lost her place of sanctuary and so I decided to ensure she got a replacement. I also would have loved to have seen a bit more of Gilbert spending time with friends his own age, especially Cole who would I am sure have helped him to realise and acknowledge his feelings for Anne long before he is an absolute idiot with Winifred. So no Miss Rose, but plenty of boys teasing and bonding, Gilbert pinning and Anne being oblivious. At least for a while anyway!
