Charlie rolls his eyes but he looks fond.
“Ah, a capable man.”
“You know it,” He teases, licking over his lips, “That’s why you keep me around.”
“Not only for that…” Charlie laughs and… Nick swears he’s not hallucinating when Charlie’s eyes drop down to his lips. He instinctively licks over them again as his heart stutters in his chest
The moment thickens, the air gets warmer.
He’s pretty sure they’re about to kiss and the thing is… Nick wants them to. More than fucking anything, actually.
Oh, yeah, he’s so fucked.
Charlie stares at him for a few moments longer but Nicks eyes are zeroed in on the pink, pillowy lips he wants to feel for himself. His own are slightly gaped, his heart is beating a little faster and then Charlie breathily says, “Okay, go on then,” then with a steadier voice, “Make me tea, I’ve earned it.”
Nicks eyes snap up and he blows a breath, which breaks into a laugh as he turns to head to go make the tea.
Jesus Christ.
That was a close one.
Too close.
