“You’re Nick and Charlie, so you’re gonna be fine.”
Spoiler alert: - we weren’t fine. Not even close.
Nick and I had believed we could make a long-distance relationship work. We loved each other, we were positive, and we were strong. But the distance between Truham and Leeds could have been a million miles; the journey lasted hours, train tickets took all our money, and I… well, I turned into a bitch. There’s no other word for it.
I pushed and pushed until Nick did something terrible. Something that broke us apart. Something that sent me spinning back into a relationship with a man who’d already abused me as a boy. The scars from that terrible time – mental, physical – followed me over the following six years.
And that’s when Nick found me again. Still playing with Queer Intentions. Directionless, miserable, still deeply scarred by the past.
But here’s the thing… we live in the same city now. The past is another country, so they say. Can we move past what happened?
Do I even want that?
Can we rekindle what we had before… or does it risk sending me into another self-destructive spiral?

Summary
Nick and Charlie have been married for three years and have decided they wanted to start a family. Charlie has tried to fall pregnant for over a year, and despite the doctors saying there's nothing wrong, it isn't happening. After a particularly bad reaction to a co-workers pregnancy, Charlie decides to stop actively trying and just see what happens. Fast forward to Charlie's next appointment where Nick throws up in the trash can. Surprise?
This is an AU where mpreg is totally normal - no omegaverse (though there's nothing wrong with that!). This idea has been rolling around in my brain for almost a year and if I keep rewriting it I'll never post it, so here it is.

“Uh… well actually… it’s just that… I kind of need to…” Mum looks at me expectantly, her eyebrows raised. She looks irritated. “I need to use my safety plan tonight,” I quickly say. Dad also shows up out of nowhere. Great.

Nick Nelson, newly divorced and raising his five-year-old son Julian alone, returns to his hometown for support and takes a teaching job at his old primary school. He rents a house for himself and Julian—only to discover his new landlord is Charlie, the boy he once secretly crushed on.
Now Charlie has to decide if he can forgive Nick for ghosting him years ago, and Nick must finally explain what really happened.
