Summary
Thirty two-year-old Charlie Spring has just lost his mother. Their relationship was messy, but the grief still hits him and his siblings hard. Their father takes it worst of all and moves to Spain to be near family, leaving the house to Charlie.
Fresh out of a toxic relationship, Charlie refuses to move back into the childhood home that shaped so many of his issues. Instead, he decides to rent it out.
Nick Nelson, newly divorced and raising his five-year-old son Julian alone, returns to his hometown for support and takes a teaching job at his old primary school. He rents a house for himself and Julian—only to discover his new landlord is Charlie, the boy he once secretly crushed on.
Now Charlie has to decide if he can forgive Nick for ghosting him years ago, and Nick must finally explain what really happened.

Charlie has been attracted to girly stuff at the ripe age of 10. Of course, since mothers would want their male child to be masculine, Jane kind of forces Charlie to try and wear masculine clothes. Tori and Julio, who don't mind at all of their own child and brother wearing feminine clothes, encourage it and support him. Now, due to how Charlie likes to be feminine, this ended up being a problem. At school, the boys would say disgusting things about him. Saying how “he's a boy and should act like one” or “if he wants to dress like a girl then he can become a girl” A lot of homophobia and transphobia goes around the school sadly. Later on in Charlie's school life, he ends up meeting the very attractive, masculine boy. Nicholas Nelson, or just Nick, finds out about Charlie's way of dressing up and finds it unique. Little did he know that he would soon have a crush on this feminine boy. These two become best friends and discuss the way they dress while Nick helps Charlie in multiple ways.
