    You keep your hand there and without thinking it through, you take his right hand and place it over your chest, where your heart pounds beneath. “What does this tell you?”

    “It don’t mean nothing.” His voice is lower and only loud enough for you to hear.

    You’ve been living out in the woods alone for some time. Breaking off attachments long ago in order to live on the straight and narrow, the only companion that you have near is your horse and a wild fox that keeps itself at distance.
