Summary
Luka Couffaine made for a perfect snake holder, wise and never tempted to use the snake miraculous for his own personal gain. Being as reliable as he was, it was only natural for Ladybug to call upon him whenever applicable, making battles all the less stressful with someone there to have her back in a way that no one else could manage.
However, as he wears it more and more, Luka starts to realize that there's more to the snake - to the universe itself - than he could've imagined, and he has to fight with both his beliefs and a red string in order to protect an unknowing Marinette from destiny's cruel designs.
Because fate, as he learns, can be suffocating.

This fic is so touching. I love the dynamic in Marinette and Luka's relationship. Plus the idea of a soulmate string around the neck representing a fate that's toxic blew my mind. Definitely a recommendation for Lukanette lovers <3 Makes me fall in love with someone who is my friend first and foremost before being my lover.
