Summary
Jim and Spock were married a few months ago. Now, Spock has beamed down to Vulcan to attend a science convention, and the Enterprise is away in another star system.
Spock struggles as constant reminders of his past keep surfacing, and he desperately needs his husband to help him from spiralling. Luckily, he married a very emotional, very loving, human, who is more than happy to remind him that there is more to life than what he experienced in his past.

Which is to say, Edith Keeler had to die, so now Jim can't sleep alone, and Spock doesn't really understand grieving humans, but he's pretty sure it's inappropriate to express romantic interest in Jim while he's still mourning someone else, which would all be a lot easier if Jim weren't in his bed, wouldn't it?

Journey to Babel but Kirk and Spock are dating and pretend they're not.
