"I'll stitch you up when you are back to consciousness" she mumbled, completely wrapped up in the dressing of the wound. So much so that she did not notice the voice that addressed her, at first.
A female voice with a very distinct American accent. The voice sounded exhausted, parched, low, but strong.
"If you're talking to me, you're going to have to speak English sweetheart"
Caitlyn's eyes widened as she looked up from dressing the wound and cerulean eyes found the greyest ones she had ever seen, sending a rush through her that she was unfamiliar with.
Then, Caitlyn spoke.
English this time, laced with a light French accent.
"I told you your wound would need to be stitched up when you were to wake" she simply informed her, ignoring how heart her started pounding yet again.

There is a car hire arranged for you to pick up from Heathrow airport and a drive 70 miles or so to the village of Market Chepston, where I have booked you a room in the local inn. You have a meeting with the lawyers the following morning to sign the deeds and then a meeting with a realtor in the afternoon to begin the process of selling it all off. The whole thing should take about two weeks. You can then return to your life, or lack thereof”
Nicole Haught navigates receiving land she doesn’t want, in a country she doesn’t know and how the hell shes supposed to just sell it on, when there is a stubborn little woman in her way…

Nicole's task is to win over this young mistress and convince her to marry Gentleman so they can steal her fortune. Having lived a life of taking things without thought, Nicole prepares for an easy job but it soon becomes anything but as she finds herself falling for the lady she is supposed to betray. Conflicted by her feelings, Nicole grapples with whether she should complete what she has been sent to do and unexpectedly finds herself at the wrong end of a hidden scheme.
Due to the brilliance of Sarah Waters, I have used some of the wording she uses in her book. How could I not? It's so well written! However, I will be adding my own style to it and changing the story slightly to incorporate more Wayhaught. I hope you enjoy it.
