Summary
In one world, Kim Dokja listened to his mother and read the story again. He devoured the same words over and over again until they were embedded into his retinas, until the stories made a home in his brain and stayed there. He consumed books like they were his lifeline and they gave him the motivation to live just one more day, until he found something else worth living for.
In that world, Kim Dokja found a family that he loved and a family that loved him back, but only after years of suffering and heartbreak and constant sacrifices that he was always happy to make. In that world, Kim Dokja may have been an only child, but he found his family and he was, first and foremost, a reader.
But this is not that world.
In which Kim Dokja learns to hate reading, but he still manages to find his protagonist.

“Wait!” Lee Jihye yelled, “How did you give birth to a child?”
‘The hell?’
“Who said I gave birth? Maybe he was the pregnant one.”
‘Was Kim Dokja out of his mind?’
“Master gave birth?!”
“…If you’re so curious then ask Yoo Joonghyuk.”

basically what could've been canon if:
- Everyone talked a little more
- Kim Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk were a little less hesitant and a lot more gay
- They focused on locking lips and not locking Kim Dokja up to prevent him from self sacrificing again because we all know he's going to do that either way

“Figure it out. I did,” Bihyung said without turning around.
Dokja stared down at the small child in his arms. She had her eyes open and was staring curiously up at him with her big brown eyes. Dokja smiled down at her.
“Hello little one,” he said with a stiff smile.
The little girl scrunched up her face and started wailing.
