Summary
It was right and proper that as Prince Regent, Loki should bring Thor’s killer to justice.
In fact, he looked forward to it. He was leading Asgard's armies on a glorious mission of vengeance as they cheered his name.
He was Regent (almost king).
Everything was going great.
He had gotten everything he ever wanted.
Thor was dead.
He was fine. -

Summary
“I hear you killed a child.”
Patroclus looked up, wary. The boy crossing the garden to the olive tree Patroclus sat beneath had hair the colour of ripened wheat and skin like pale, fine sand. Younger than Patroclus but already just as tall, Achilles was rumoured to be half Nereid, half human. He looked altogether human, though, which had been a bit of a disappointment. Patroclus had been expecting at least scales or blue hair. Something.
“I did,” Patroclus said, keeping his tone even. It wouldn’t do to break down before a stranger. Myrmidons weren’t meant to be ruled intensely by emotions like regret. “Lyseon was a childhood friend, the son of a retainer.”

Summary
When the last blasphemous savage falls under his blade, when the last yips and chirps of the surviving divine messengers have faded with the wind, it is the incongruent lightness of the last limp body in his hands as he lifts it to the pyre that shatters the seal of Jin's tightly bound rage.
Or: I thought it was about time the sad wet cat samurai had a damn breakdown.
