  Summary

  Dorothy Mayfield, better known as Dottie, had been cautious about the big move to rural Indiana. California had offered many opportunities to get away from her treacherous home life and protect younger sister Max. But here, with small town gossip and lack of escape, she worried that there would be no way out of the grasp of her abusive stepfather. Little did she know, that may become one of the least of her worries. Follow Dottie as she, Max and Billy become assimilated to Hawkins, investigate the odd happenings, build friendships and may even find love.
