It’s not that Viktor likes seeing Yuuri cry. Far from it. His tears still bring an unfamiliar panic, an unease so deep he sometimes forgets the next step.
But he watches Yuuri far too closely to dismiss the way it relaxes the tension in his shoulders when the tears are over, how his jumps are higher and his gorgeous step sequences more in tune with the emotions he skates. This ease can last for days, even weeks, of quicker smiles and better rest for his fiancé.
As a coach and a partner, he’d be a fool to dismiss it.
“You want to spank me.” Yuuri’s tone is flat.
“Yes,” Viktor says, curling around him tighter. Yuuri fits just right in his arms. “I think you’ll like it.”

Well, if that was her idea of enticing conversation, it was no wonder she had all those evenings free to chase after scoundrels like him. Still, Astarion didn’t want to antagonize her further and ruin the game, so he pursed his lips and guessed, “A very large, well-placed cannon?”
“Tax fraud.”
She looked at him as if she expected some sort of reaction – maybe a dramatic gasp? A palm flung to his forehead in a theatrical rendition of How could I not think of this?
Everything he could muster was a blink. “Tax … fraud.”
She nodded, obviously excited about what Astarion was sure were two of the most boring words in the English language, combined.
