Summary
Hope stared at Josie for a long time, bewildered. “Okay, I feel like there’s something you’re not telling me,” she admitted, trying not to sound too confrontational.
The last syllable had barely left Hope’s mouth before Josie was responding, her words rushed and frantic. “Psh, no—there’s nothing I’m not telling you,” she insisted. “What would I not be telling you? I tell you everything—I have nothing to hide.”

Josie finds out that she and Hope accidentally performed a marriage ritual and doesn't know how to talk about it.

“Don’t feel bad,” Josie cuts her off, dead serious. “I’m trying to replace you, too.”
Everything goes still and silent for a long while—still, silent, and incredibly awkward.

“I need you to…,” Hope started, her voice tight and restrained like it was difficult to get the words out. “Siphon from me.”
Josie stilled. She glanced down at their hands. “Siphon... from you?” she echoed, confused. “For what?”
Hope gulped. “Nothing in particular,” she squeaked with a tense shrug, trying and failing to seem nonchalant. “Or, well, whatever you need the power for, I guess.”
Josie stared at Hope for a long moment, studying her. “I’m... confused,” she said slowly. “Why would you want me to siphon from you if it’s not for a spell?”
“Because it feels good,” Hope blurted out.
Or,
Hope triggers her vamp side and is perpetually one step away from exploding in a fit of rage. Then, she finds out that Josie is the only one who can calm her down.

“You should own this world,” Dark Josie murmured with the utmost certainty. “Everyone in it should bow to you. Deep down, you know I’m right.”
Hope only hummed lightly in response, Josie’s words beginning to fade in and out of her awareness as the darkness started to overtake her.
Josie continued, whispering softly into Hope’s ear like she was telling her a bedtime story. “Sh, it’s okay,” she cooed, her free hand caressing Hope’s cheek. “When you wake up, it'll be much easier to ignore those pesky little morals of yours. I can’t wait to find out who you really are.”
Hope would later marvel at the fact that those words made her feel so comfortable and safe right before she died.

Okay - that’s - that’s unexpected. But fine. She’s fine. Hope’s not her girlfriend, she’s not Hope’s girlfriend and someone will tell her that and it will be fine, and soon enough, Hope will remember that she’s in love with Landon. She’ll work on bringing him back to life and out of his coma. Magic can be weird. Weird stuff happens.
