Thus does she hide the hollow, lonely feeling in her chest that she feels, tamping it down so she can keep doing her job and drawing in spectators.

The Winds of Valnain, in need of aether to supply the anti-Garlean barrier in the Burn for the Domans, travel to the Steppe with Hien and Y'shtola, to utilize a shard of Dalamud that rested in the House of the Crooked Coin. Before they can use it, they need to obtain the permission of the other tribes, namely that of the Dotharl.
Of course, everything has a price, and none of them could have predicted what Sadu's would be.
Set during the quest "The Will of the Moon" during the Stormblood patch stories!

Fiora Hyskaris, the Warrior of Light, the Wolf of Dalmasca, hated the idea of bringing the Leveilleur twins with her to parley with the Garleans. She had no inkling of the past that would come back to haunt her.
A little something I whipped up a while back in a fit of inspiration after going through The Last Bastion quest.

"The Federation is going to get everything I'm saying, right?" The survivor's voice was raw as she rubbed a swollen eye. She was defeated, even though Samus hadn't lifted an armored finger towards her.
"No," Samus straightened, crossing her arms. Her visor flickered. "They're not the ones bleeding on my ship."
Perhaps the words didn't mean much to the woman, there was no comfort here.
Just the two of them. Alone in space.

Summary
Hornet's upset expression gives way for a very concerned one. "Did you..." she starts, but doesn't want to say it out loud. "What is the last thing you remember?"
Lace looks up at her, trying to read her face. Her eyes seem to flicker nervously, taking small, shallow breaths. Her gaze wanders to the floor. "I..." She opens her mouth to say something, but it doesn't come out. Then she tries again. "After- after our battle. In the Deep Docks. You won in our duel and I- The Citadel. I went back to the Citadel."
Hornet looks her in the eyes, trying to find a sign, any sign, that this was a joke. A horrible, cruel joke, but just a joke nonetheless. But there is none of Lace's telltale signs when she lies to be found on her face. "You do not... remember our confrontation at the flower field either, then."

Silksong Post-Act 3 aftermath, but with the twist that Lace has no memory of the events between the midpoint of Act 1 to the end of Act 3.

The world beneath it had suffered its whims, the people it should have uplifted had become nothing but puppets dancing on strings. Dragged from her home, she bore witness to it all, every last bit of the madness and suffering that had gripped the Haunted lands. And so, she had no choice.
And so, Hornet, was Godling no more.
And if she was to be a God...
Then, she intended to live up to the title, unlike those many that had come before.
