It was no mystery to Jean that he was broken. If he told this to someone else, they’d deny it, comfort him and tell him that he wasn’t, compliment him for things he wasn’t sure he could believe— But deep inside, Jean knew the truth.
Which is why it baffled him how someone as dazzling as Jeremy, with his dimpled grin and soft brown eyes could ever see him and find someone worthy of such a loving look.
Jean was broken, and Jeremy deserved better than that. Jeremy deserved the world.

Summary
Today— to his disbelief— Jean woke up being held.
One of Jeremy’s arms was wrapped over Jean’s shoulderblades, while the other cradled the back of his head right against the gentle beating of his heart. His consciousness came to him slowly and almost serenely, eyes fluttering, body shifting, until he slowly came to the realization of the situation.
Last night came back to him, and he felt surprisingly calm at the recall of Jeremy’s gentle reassurance and even gentler hands as Jean explained that, yes, he was ready.
And now he’d woken to beautiful, tanned, freckled arms holding him as if he were the world itself.
Or: JereJean morning after their first time and it’s adorable because I said so.
