Summary
“My apologies, what did you say?” Regulus nearly stutters. Nearly. But he knows how to control himself. He knows how to play his part.
James lets out a small laugh, “I just said hello,” he holds out his hand, “James Potter.” Regulus looks down at it, taking it in his own and giving it a firm shake. His hand feels like it’s buzzing with energy and his eyes look up to meet James’. He realizes that he’s seen James before, sneaking around with Sirius when they were younger. He’s never once risked the wrath of Walburga by joining their shenanigans. Has James always looked like this?
He clears his throat, “Regulus Black, pleasure to meet you,” he says finally. When James pulls his hand away, he can still feel the twinge of electricity.
“The pleasure is all mine,” James responds with a nod.
