    Summary

    Nom was fading. He could feel it as he watched the three people closest to him stand in front of the pale oak that'd sprung up from the place where he died. Even as he watched with a sad sort of smile as they ran their fingers over the solid bark, he could tell that the final threads connecting him to this realm were snapping. It was time for him to let them go.

    And so when his ghostly blue light dimmed, and his vision began to darken, he didn’t fight it.

    When Nom opened his eyes again, it was with a kind of surprise. He’d never been one to believe in an afterlife. He didn’t want to think about where he might end up after the monstrosities he’d committed. Yet here he was.

    But where was “here”?

    OR

    The Nom lives fic we all needed after that ending. enjoy.

    ~~~
    In Nom’s presence Scott found protection and in Scott’s presence Nom was allowed a place where he could say anything and no judgment would be cast upon him. To forever and a day they knew the other would be at their side, and what a perfect forever that would be while sailing upon their Revived White Lily into a unknown eternity.
    A non canon peaceful epilogue written based on a one off comment they said the stream before last in lore about at the end of it all getting on a boat and sailing away together...
    Fluff one shot <3
    Scott isn't entirely sure what to do with a dragon. A dragon that is clearly very upset and too nervous to share any details.
    Maybe getting better won't happen anytime soon, but Scott's okay with laying in the moss while Nom lays across him, making a sound that he wants to think is a purr but sounds too close to a growl.
    Summary
    For a brief moment, the quiet patrol felt less ordinary—like the night itself was waiting for something to happen.
    As Nom turned his gaze away from the quiet streets, a sudden sound tore through the stillness of the night.
    A scream.
    It was sharp and raw, echoing out from the direction of the mage’s hidden house and cutting through the calm like a blade. The wind seemed to falter for a moment, the rustling leaves falling quiet as the sound carried across the moonlit courtyard.
    Nom stopped instantly.
    The scream wasn’t one of anger or battle. It was the kind that came from deep panic—the kind dragged out of someone who had just been ripped from a terrible dream. The kind that left the air trembling long after it faded.
    His eyes snapped back toward the house, now feeling far less peaceful than it had moments before. The shadows around it looked deeper, heavier, as if the night itself had drawn closer.
    And Nom knew exactly whose voice it was.
    Scott’s.
