Summary
Many years ago, unbeknownst to anyone, Severus and Lily mended their broken friendship, but kept it secret because they didn't trust anyone during the end of the last Wizarding War. Fast forward 5 years, and Albus's machinations have lead for Severus to discover that Harry's relatives have been horrifically abusive. Using his Slytherin cunning, Severus tricks Albus into awarding him guardianship of a 6 year old Harry Potter. Being raised by someone who is looking out for his well-being and actually cares about him means that Harry is a lot more prepared for Albus's manipulations and in dealing with Voldemort, but with Severus's notorious antisocial personality, is Harry ready for friends and possible romance?

Summary
Most people rekindled friendships with people from high school over Facebook or Twitter. Most people met for coffee, shared pictures of their bratty children, and sent old friends Christmas letters once a year.
Marinette was clearly not most people as she had somehow hooked up with her former high school crush on a bondage dating website and didn't know it until he was standing in front of her with an identical look of bemused embarrassment plastered all over his pretty face.

When Hermione begins to see a gigolo for conversation and companionship, the foundation of her life is shaken to the core from revelations concerning every aspect of her life.
This story was started in 2004 and is now AU, ignoring all new HBP and DH canon. Winner of Round Three Multifaceted's Endurance category (best challenge fic).
