Summary
Jack finally managed to get into the kitchen. He was expecting to see Bittle in there, too, making a pie or grabbing another beer, but he was nowhere in sight. Where is he? Jack thought as he put his beer down left of the sink, where he could find it later. Unlike him, Bitty loved Haus parties. He had sworn he saw him earlier that night, talking with one of the swimmers on the porch, but then he was gone.
Jack was about to head back into the living room when he felt a thump beneath his feet. The heavy table, covered in food, snacks, beer, and dishes rattled.
“What the hell-“ Jack asked the empty kitchen. Another thump answered, louder this time, and a muffled exclamation.
The basement. That was really the only option.

Being closeted in rural Georgia and getting abducted by aliens was a level of unfairness and cruelty that left Eric Bittle going over the span of his entire 19 years of existence to try to figure out exactly where he went wrong."
In which Eric Bittle, baker and mostly wholesome Georgia boy, gets abducted by aliens, and then the government, and might have to team up with a group of even bigger freaks than himself to become government issued superheroes to make it home. Or else, maybe just accept the fact that these freaks might just be his new home, or something lame and weird like that.

Link couldn't be sure if he was always this way; was he even remotely the same person he was 100 years ago? He was quite sure the boy he'd been had died and come back a monster, a hollow shell of bitterness and rage, blunt in every aspect but the ones that made him a perfect killer. Who remained that could offer him the truth? It felt as though everyone that had truly known him took those answers with them, leaving his life a tattered patchwork of various endings. He saw no reason not to simply allow Hyrule to come to an end as well. There was only one person in his life that offered kindness and comfort, asking nothing in return, one person that could make him feel something, rather than nothing, one person who seemed to represent a beginning, rather than an ending.

Eric Bittle has just graduated from Samwell University after leading the SMH team to its best season yet when he accepts an offer to join the coaching staff at Samwell for the next year as a coaching assistant. The only real downside is that he has to deal with the moody and unpredictable staff nutritionist, Jack Zimmermann, who has a vendetta against Eric's pies.
