It's a few weeks into October 2028. Abby and Frank are at Tanner and Penny's elementary school for poorly spaced-out parent teacher conferences. Tanner's off with a friend whose private school is incredibly lax about who joins them for field trips. Mel's on Penny duty, and she's hell-bent on giving her stepdaughter the best day ever.

It's the last week of December. Mel's Christmas Eve was absolute ass, and Frank's Christmas Eve was absolute ass on steroids. After an eventful Christmas Day shift, a two-months-divorced Frank invites Mel for a sleepover. Things escalate very quickly, and Mel finds she's more than OK with it.

It's Valentine's Day, 2029.
It's the last day before Dr. Mel King Langdon is set to go on maternity leave. Chaos ensues.
(note: I am sure that at this point in the timeline, not all of the doctors we've seen so far would be there...however, this is fanfiction and I honestly don't give a shit. Also, real hospitals have way more attendings than the PTMC seems to have.)
Also, apologies for the title, I know it's stupid.
Nothing particularly "mature" happens in this fic, but I've rated it that way for language.
