He shivers at the sound of you saying his name. You could only dare to hope that maybe your love was mutual.
(It was. He couldn't tell you how many nights he dreamt about hearing you say his name. From screaming it in excitement to quietly whispering it into his ear. Finally, he doesn't have to dream anymore now that he has a memory that will keep him warm until the next time he sees you. He won't tell you any of this, though. He doesn't want to scare you into disappearing for another half decade.)

Summary
Ribcage had always been a funny word to Ranpo. Cage implied there was something it was locking in, keeping the heart and lungs in place in fear of them escaping. He’s read some of Poe’s darker books, ones where the main character tears apart his lover’s chest to watch the horrifyingly beautiful pulsing of their heart. Ranpo always wondered what it was like. Never like this, though. He could see Dazai’s ribs now, and it was awful.
Or, Dazai gets injured on a mission and it's up to Ranpo to keep him alive.

Summary
When you kill someone for the first time, something shifts in you and never comes back to its previous position. It's the same when you save someone's life.
Plenty of stories describe the underworld as a hierarchic structure that can be easily perceived and categorised. It gives people the illusion that it can be controlled, predicted and finally cut short. It might seem that the silence of the night, in contrast to the hustle and bustle of both the day and business, is the separation of two levels of reality. It feeds hope, nestled in the back of the head, that the underworld has emerged from the great silence and will return to it someday.
And all in vain.Or:
Dazai Osamu and Nakahara Chuuya are the most feared duo in Yokohama. However, there are still gaps in their story. Paul Verlaine faces his past, Chuuya and Dazai need to reevaluate their bond and there's a newspaper ready to show it all.
