Summary
“Oh- oh shit…” Robert dropped to his knees, crawling over him. That’s when he saw them: two bloody holes torn through Flambae’s shoulder and stomach. Bright red blood poured out like a river. Flambae had been shot. A spike of cold punched down Robert’s spine, even though the body under his hands radiated heat.
Or, Flambae took a bullet for Robert (actually, two bullets), despite claiming he’d never do that. They both end up learning a lot about themselves and each other afterward.

Summary
To the residents of Chad’s building, the relationship between Chad and Robert is nothing too strange. Chad goes to work each day while Robert tends the house. There’s really nothing concerning or suspicious about their relationship, besides the fact that Robert only seems to leave their apartment to get groceries or walk their dog.
But Chad knows the truth: their relationship is built on a lie that threatens to expose itself any second. Robert is Mecha Man, the very hero who once arrested Chad and cut off two of his fingers. Robert also has no memory of being Mecha Man, and Chad has no intention of telling him.

Flambae turns back around, brows furrowed at the other hero. “What the hell are you even saying? You're just going ‘blah blah blah!’ and hoping I would understand your bullshit language. And you call me confusing.”
Robert raises his brow, as if Flambae were the crazy one. “You never heard of boys bullying girls in preschool because they had crushes on them?”
“No? That's stupid.”
“It is stupid. That's what I'm doing. I'm calling you stupid.”
In which case, Robert finds out why Flambae has been avoiding him.
