Summary
Her godfather dead, bearing the dark mark and betrothed to Severus Snape; Penny Potter is struggling to pick up the pieces and start her sixth year at Hogwarts. Despite resolving herself to having a semi-normal life this year, life continues pushing Penny forward in directions she did not see herself going. Snape, likewise, has to make a decision, one to keep the truth from Penny that comes with unforeseen consequences where she is concerned.
Covering both the 6th and 7th years at Hogwarts, Penny finds herself having to make a choice: Trust Severus Snape despite what the evidence and his own deeds have led her to believe about the truth of his character, or finally tear herself from the man she has come to rely on, leaving herself in tatters, but conscious in tact?

Summary
Penny Potter may be the twin of Harry Potter but she does not share his proclivity for a hatred of the Potions Master, Severus Snape. Despite Snape's efforts to keep the girl at a distance, Penny's life becomes dangerously entangled with Dumbledore's spy. Trapped on the side Harry is trying to defeat, will Severus Snape be able to protect Penny Potter? Or will he make the same mistake twice?
This is a long haul fic that focuses almost entirely on the OC and Snape, and how that gives a different perspective on cannon events.
