Summary
“So…” Evan finally sputtered. “Um… Vampire?”
“Vampire,” Connor confirmed.
“Oh,” Evan nodded.
His eyes continued to blink dazedly as he watched Zoe leap over a headstone and take off again.
He felt like he should say something else. Like he should be feeling something else. But, really, what else was there to say? Except…
“That explains a lot,” Evan muttered.
In other words, an AU in which the demons they're fighting aren't just internal anymore.

“What’s that?” Connor asks immediately. When Evan looks up, his eyes are still narrowed.
Evan has to shut his eyes shut real tight to be able to say anything.
“Um… it’s… it’s for you.”
Connor just blinks at him. After that, his eyes are wide, almost with confusion. “It’s for me?”
(Evan's having a birthday party.)

Summary
Evan Hansen knew today wasn't going to be a great day despite what his mother thought, though he still had a slight childish hope it would be, or at least part of it would be, but now he knew for sure that it wasn't. If it was, then Connor Murphy wouldn't be mad at him and he wouldn't be angrily running away from Evan. Today wasn't a good day and here's why.
(AU where Evan is the one to try and commit suicide, not Connor. He also had a crush on Connor, not Zoe, but he still mentions Zoe in his letter because he admires her.)

Summary
The Murphy’s dining table has certainly seen better days.
It’s chipped in places now, and the wood is dull and faded. There’s red wine stains and scratches, and a pale, milky spot where someone spilled nail polish remover and the varnish never quite recovered.
But it still has potential. It’s a fixer-upper.
And Cynthia wants to be the one to fix it up.
God knows there are plenty of other things in her life that she never had the opportunity to fix.
(Or: Three times Connor goes to the dining table when his heart needs help).

Summary
"There will come a day when man will face the embodiment of true evil, the god without a name, the One who Floods the World. Clouds and Mischief rolling on the horizon, He shall be met by the Light Bringer and the Balancer, one born with the turning of the fallen leaf, the other born of lightning, these two descendants of those favored by the gods old, new, and eternal." -Translation from ancient Norse text, circa 791 AD
For years, Evan Hansen has struggled with the burden of knowing he is different -- not just because he's got so much anxiety he can't even order a pizza for himself, but more because he can emit weird laser things from his hands. Yeah, he's fully accepted he's a freak -- but that doesn't mean everyone else would.
Connor Murphy is suicidal and desperate for a way out. As it turns out, walking in on that quiet Evan Hansen kid shooting lasers out of his hands in the school library might just be that way out.
(aka the one where evan's supposed to save the world, connor's just along for the literal ride, and ancient norse gods hate them both)
