"Fucking banana bread craze.", she swore under her mask, bee-lining towards it at a swift pace. She reached towards the bag-
-when another hand bumped against hers, both coming to rest on the bag simultaneously.
"...excuse me." She gave her best apologetic smile to the admittedly gorgeous stranger as her hand tightened on the bag.
To her mild surprise, the woman's hand didn't bulge but in fact, grabbed tighter onto the bag as well.
"You are excused."
Under different circumstances Claudine might've noticed the pleasant tenor of the woman's voice but alas her words washed over her like a bucket of cold water and her polite smile slipped off her face.
"Please repeat that again?"
The other woman smiled. "I said, you are pardoned."
...it doesn't go fully as planned.
