Summary
Among all those who lived in Middle-earth few knew of the shire. Among those who knew of it, barely any of them knew it’s secret. Among those who knew it’s secret, none understood it. Though, one could argue weather that was truly the case with its inhabitants themselves.
When their little Bilbo was welcomed into the world, most at least understood what a miracle he was. It’s why he was pampered by both his parents as well as his Took family, though never quite spoiled. It’s also why most ignored the fact he’d been born with a scar trailing from his hairline to the tip of his brow.
