    “Oh fuck,” Soap croaks.

Ghost lowers his smoking gun, and their eyes meet.

    "Hello, Soap."

or; Soap fucked up his entire life trying to save it. Now he's on the run from not one, not two, but three dangerous bastards; two of them he hates, one of them he loves. He's doing a good job of staying gone until he stumbles upon two ladies in need and gets a little too invested in helping them home.

    Summary

After a mission gone wrong leaves Simon “Ghost” Riley deaf in one ear and Johnny “Soap” MacTavish with a permanent leg injury, both men are forced into early retirement. Soap uses his pension to buy a crumbling house on the edge of a quiet town, determined to make something of it, even if the place looks like it should’ve come with a tetanus shot.

Ghost shows up with a duffel bag and his usual scowl, moving into the guest room to help with renovations. Between faulty wiring, leaking pipes, and a fridge that seems to growl at two a.m., the two of them fall into a new rhythm of grocery runs, hardware store trips, and late-night fixes. The banter is sharp, the silences softer than either expected, and somewhere between the broken walls and peeling paint, they begin to rebuild more than just the house.

It’s a story about finding purpose when the battlefield is gone, about healing old wounds in the comfort of shared domestic chaos, and about realizing that sometimes “home” isn’t a place, it’s each other.

10 out of 10 one of the best fics I've ever read, characters well built through the narrative, good and strong ideas scattered throughout the fic, really a piece of art.

    Summary

When one talked to God in Heaven, looking Him in the eye was frowned upon. Taking His name in vain was sacrilegious and to be punished. He claimed to be a fair God, taking care of his flock of angels, his Heavenly host. Soap never wanted that. He wanted to be able to stand proudly by God’s side, reveling in His accomplishments, more than just another angel.

Angel Soap’s very essence is being changed, so he goes to the one person he can trust; Simon.

    Summary

“This is a waste of my goddamn time,” the boss snapped, swinging his fist at Soap’s jaw. Again.

“Really?” Soap spat blood onto the floor, his binds flexing at the motion. “And here I thought we were starting to bond.”

The man’s attention— and his pistol— turned towards Ghost. “Tell me, does he ever shut the fuck up?” It was a bluff, Soap knew it was, but it didn’t stop the smirk from falling off his face. Only realizing his mistake a second too late.

Oh,” their captor said smugly, gun back at Ghost’s temple as his eyes flicked between the two. “I see. We’ve been going about this all wrong, haven’t we? Let’s try this again…”

    or

After months undercover, all that stood between Soap and freedom was an exit plan. When it goes awry, he and Ghost are left at the mercy of a cartel boss, who’s determined to get his revenge.

With all their time apart, are Soap and Ghost still in-tune enough to escape?
