Such is the life in The City. Leaving nothing but a wake of corpses and tragedies, a man too ashamed to recognize himself to be alive joins an Office.
Such is the conscience of those he now stands side by side. For what are humans without violence, murder, apathy, laughter, happiness, grief, and so on? Each and every one of them are human. So is he. All twelve of them were not exempt from the flow of The City—no one was.
