Summary
Denki didn’t find it weird in the slightest that he was cuddling with a random stranger on a public bus at what must’ve been close to eleven? (He lost track of time, but it had to be at least half past ten.) If anything, he found himself wondering when, or if, he could ever possibly hold the indigo-haired girl like this again. Maybe he was getting ahead of himself, but she was cute, and holding her in his arms felt intimate- it felt right. And by the cheerful hum that sounded from the girl in his arms, Denki thought that maybe, even in her sleep, she felt it too.

When she came to U.A. High, Kyouka Jirou wasn’t sure that this was where she should be. Being the center of attention was something that Denki Kaminari enjoyed, and kicking ass and taking names seemed like a hell of a career choice. But it was also a lot to live up to. Every strum of Jirou’s guitar, every whip of her jacks, every laugh at one of his stupid jokes shook him to his noisy core, sifting through the static to reach a more still mind than he’s ever had.

Denki Kaminari and Kyouka Jirou both knew that the saying “opposites attract” wasn’t anywhere close to the truth, at least when it came to anything other than magnets. But maybe, just maybe, thunder and lightning, light and sound, purple and yellow could fit together. Besides, it's what they share that matters to them, more than anything else in the world.

For Bakugo it was never a question of getting into the university's prestigious Big Band or not (of course he would), but the part of the first trumpet gets snatched from him he feels challenged to prove himself, and everything Kirishima can do is to watch and control the damage. Meanwhile, Jirou has to face the fact that her relationship to Kaminari might be changing, and she isn't sure whether she likes that or not.
It's not easy to avoid someone when you're playing in the same jazz band.
Or in other words: They're all in a Big Band because I want my OTPs to kiss and it's gonna be really, really cool. I mean at least I'm having fun here. I was dragged into this fandom and now you all have to suffer with me.

“Did I say anything to you that stuck out last night?” Kaminari said, climbing to his feet with the UA blanket hanging from his shoulders like a bright blue and red cape.
Jirou stopped for a second, tilting her head to the side. She remembered the usual ‘wheys’, the usual falling on flat surfaces, but mostly, Jirou remembered what Kaminari whispered to himself before falling asleep on the ground while she waited on his bed for him to snap out of it. After throwing him the pillow she’d been leaning against, she watched him pull it close to himself and mumble.

And imperceptible to normal human ears, but not beyond hers:

Kaminari confesses to Jirou in his sleep on the last weekend before break starts, throwing everyone off as they prepare for the summer. The fic will be a slow burn, following the two of them throughout the summer as things go awry.
