He takes a long, slow breath. Ignores the glares from the other students. “Superboy,” he murmurs. “It’s me. If you’re listening, I could use some help.”

Or: 5 times Superboy saves Tim Drake, and one time Tim Drake saves Superboy.

    Summary

Then he took a deep breath and he changed. He ironed out every fold in his posture and his face until he looked like Superman again. His shoulders were broad, his gaze was confident, and his smile showed no sign of embarrassment or fear.

    It’s genuinely uncomfortable to watch.

Especially since Bruce knows that change. He’s seen it in the mirror before entering parties or nightclubs. He’s always referred to it, internally, as 'putting on my better face.' The façade is his least favourite part of the day, ranking just below 'getting punched by supervillains.'

The idea that Superman is just Kal's better face, that would explain a lot.

It would also mean Bruce isn't alone.

"Complete remission." It didn't seem like a possible concept. It sounded unreal.

Yet, that was what the doctor had told Viktor. That the treatment had worked. That his progress had been steady for some time, and the latest tests showed no trace of the disease. That his life wasn't in danger anymore. That he had been lucky.

Lucky, him. Perhaps that was the hardest part to believe.

Viktor survives his illness. And now, somehow, he has to learn how to live again.

    Summary

Jayce had found pride and joy in so many academic achievements, the sense of accomplishment burning in his chest like a fuel that drove him forward – yet it was hard not to feel equally pleased as he witnessed recognition blooming on Viktor’s face like lightning in a clear sky.

Viktor gaped, eyes widened in shock, before looking up to him again, scanning over his face almost frantically, like he couldn’t believe the name on the page, like he couldn’t believe his own eyes.

“Jayce.” He called him, and his name, muttered in confusion, disbelief, astonishment, realisation, felt like an echo from a decade past. It felt like a cycle closing, a long, lonely chapter ending, and a new one beginning.

“Viktor,” Jayce called him back and Viktor gasped. Jayce smiled, unable to help himself. “It’s been a while.”

Ten years ago, Jayce met Viktor at the science summer camp, becoming his first friend and his first love ー before leaving him behind.
At 24, freshly graduated, Jayce comes back to the same camp, one last summer before he steps into the adult life... only to meet Viktor once again.

    Summary

Jayce Talis hasn’t skated in 147 days.

But he still comes here. Most mornings, just before sunrise. Climbs to the top bleacher like he’s surveying a holy ruin. One leg strapped in carbon and velcro. The other twitching with the echo of routines he used to run in his sleep. The ache is familiar now. A quiet, persistent hum beneath the ribs.

He used to own this place. The rink, the ice, the silence. It bowed beneath him like it was lucky to be chosen. Every jump was a threat, every spin a dare. He hadn’t realized how much of his sense of self came from the sound of applause.

    Now the silence feels accusatory.

    But still— he comes.

Today, though, there’s someone else on the ice.
